Florida Department of Health

Government Operations Consultant II, Child Nutrition

                                    Programs – Area Consultant for seventeen-county region

                                    providing training, technical assistance and regulatory

                                    program compliance reviews to contractors of the Child

Care Food Program, Afterschool Snack Program, and Homeless Children Nutrition Program.  Complete annual monitoring reviews for all contractors, including corrective action plans and additional follow-up as needed.  Conduct monthly record keeping workshops, annual renewal trainings, and policy/program trainings as required.  Assist contractors with application/renewal process, and conduct pre-operational visits for all new prospective contractors.  Implement contractor program outreach as needed.

                                   

Senior Human Service Program Specialist, WIC & Nutrition Services - Monitor County WIC Programs

throughout the State of Florida for compliance with Federal regulations.  Provide written report and corrective action

plan for all monitoring activities.  Oversee Self-Review Process for all County WIC Programs throughout the State.  Conduct project file reviews and provide written summaries for all monitoring trips.  Maintain quarterly correspondence with all County WIC Programs which are not meeting adequate levels of expenditures for Nutrition Education and Breastfeeding Promotion.  Review and approve capital expenditures up to $25,000 for all County WIC Programs.  Update and maintain assigned sections of the WIC Procedure Manual. Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) meetings and activities.

2001-Present              

Program Specialist III - Provide technical assistance and

                                    training to public and private sponsors of the National

                                    School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.  Assist in

                                    conducting regulatory reviews of above programs in all

                                    school districts throughout the State of Florida to assure

                                    that Federal guidelines are being met. Assist with nutrient

                                    analysis of school breakfast and lunch menus.  Responsible

                                    for development, coordination and implementation of

                                    statewide teacher trainings to promote nutrition in the

                                    classroom.

Macomb County WIC Program - Mt. Clemens, MI

Part-time Dietitian - Provide nutrition screening,

                                    assessment and counseling to pregnant and breastfeeding

                                    women, infants and children in a clinic setting. Responsible

for high-risk nutrition counseling sessions for above clients

as needed.  Assume role of on-site supervisor at WIC

satellite clinics.

Marriott Management Services/Macomb Hospital - Warren, MI

Clinical Dietitian - Responsible for all aspects of patient

                                    care including nutrition assessment, care plans and education.  Practiced all areas of dietetics including critical care, cardiac rehab, OB/GYN, diabetes, geriatrics, outpatient education, in-service training and community presentations.  Primary dietitian responsible for the Nutrition Support Team.  Management responsibilities and training related to patient services including tray-line supervision, temperature monitoring, tray assessments and meal rounds.  Assumed the role of Clinical Nutrition Manager in her absence.  Responsibilities included scheduling of clinical staff, overseeing diet office and tray line, weekly patient services administrative reports and administrative presentations as necessary.  Served on several CQI teams and participated in JCAHO survey.

Clinical Dietitian - Responsible for nutrition assessment, care plans and patient education of diabetic population.

Clinical Dietitian - Responsible for all aspects of patient

care including nutrition assessment, care plans and

education.  Practiced all areas of dietetics including critical

care, cardiac rehab, pediatric intensive care, OB/GYN,

women’s wellness, diabetes, geriatrics and outpatient

education. Conducted in-service training and community presentations, as well as developed a variety of nutrition education materials.
